Princess Kate may be the one quietly trying to bring her family back together.

The Princess of Wales, 43, is “trying to convince” her husband, Prince William, to reunite with his estranged brother, Prince Harry,  his wife Meghan Markle, and their kids, Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, during their July trip to England, a royal insider told Us Weekly for a Wednesday, July 1 report.

“She is interested in seeing the kids, as well,” the insider said of Archie and Lilibet, noting that it’s a rare situation. “So when they found out they were coming, it was a shock. They are trying to make this work because the opportunities are so limited.”

The last time the brothers appeared together in public was at Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral in 2022.

While Kate may be rooting for a reunion, she is leaving the choice entirely up to her husband. “She is hoping that William will show up, but she will respect his decision,” the insider told the outlet.

Examiner previously revealed how Kate is prepared to make a last-ditch push to broker peace with Harry, even if that means doing so behind her husband’s back. “In her view, the longer they wait to deal with this, the worse it’s getting,” a source told Examiner.

Cracks in the royal family widened in 2020, when Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, stepped away from their senior roles and started a new life in California with their kids.

The decision soured Harry’s relationship with both his father and his brother. Still, Harry’s U.K. trip could steer the family dynamic somewhere more positive, particularly since Charles is reportedly eager to set up his own sit-down with Harry and Meghan while they’re in town.

“The king is realistic about the challenges of rebuilding the relationship and knows it is going to take time,” the source told Us Weekly.

“There is definitely excitement, and Charles is also optimistic about this,” the source continued. “He’s hoping it’s the first step toward repairing the relationship between Harry and William, as well.”
