Dolly Parton has money on the mind, says a source — specifically, her $650 million fortune and how it will be divided after she’s gone.
“She’s a very pragmatic person and the last thing she wants is to leave any sort of mess for her family to deal with,” the source tells Examiner. “Her worst nightmare is that the people she loves could end up fighting over her estate, so it’s crucial to her that she gets every little thing decided in advance and leaves no room for questions or lawsuits.”
As Examinerpreviously reported, the “Jolene” singer, 80, lost both husband Carl Dean and brother Coy “Denver” Parton over the last two years, all while struggling with her own health issues.
Most recently, the ailing icon cited dizziness and dehydration as reasons for bailing out of a planned appearance at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday, August 14, per People.
“Dolly wants to dot every i and cross every t herself,” confirms the source. “She’s got very clear ideas about how she wants it all to go.”
The Grammy winner and spouse Dean — who was 82 at the time of his death in 2025 — never had children during their nearly 60-year marriage, the source notes, meaning “there are a ton of decisions that need to be made.”
“There are so many charities she wants to support, along with hundreds of people in her circle of family and friends that she wants to take care of,” spills the source. “This would be a difficult task to tackle in the best of circumstances, but for someone in Dolly’s condition, it’s especially taxing.”
