It seems that people are washing their hands clean of Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

A pair of flying gloves worn by the former Prince Andrew during the 1982 Falklands War when he served as a helicopter pilot got zero bids at an auction on Tuesday, June 9, according to British media organization GB News.

The leather gloves, which were signed by the former Duke of York and still had dirt on them, were reportedly valued at between £1,000 and £2,000 (approximately $1,333 to $2,667).

“There was no interest and no bids,” said auctioneer James Grinter, who noted that previous items connected to the father of two have historically done well at auction.

“Andrew was at the height of his popularity during the Falklands War and very highly regarded at the time,” he added, per GB News. “It would have been inconceivable then that he would be disgraced for his subsequent behaviour.”

Andrew, who has come under fire in recent months amid renewed scrutiny into his ties to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested earlier this year on February 19, his 66th birthday.

Though the disgraced royal has consistently denied wrongdoing and maintained his innocence regarding his connection to the late financier, he was accused of sharing confidential information with Epstein related to his role as a trade envoy.

The Thames Valley Police launched an inquiry into Andrew after it was reported that emails suggest the disgraced royal sent Epstein reports from a tour of Southeast Asia he took in 2010.

Following Andrew’s arrest, his brother King Charles III said via a statement issued from Buckingham Palace that authorities have the royal family’s “full and wholehearted support and co-operation” throughout an investigation.

At the recent auction, a letter penned by the late Princess Diana a week after her Panorama interview — in which she famously said “there were three of us in this marriage,” referring to Queen Camilla — reportedly sold for £5,330 (approximately $7,142).
