Andrew Mountbatten Windsor hasn’t had what anyone would call a banner year, and now, the former prince has been spotted with a visible injury.
In images shared by TMZ on Thursday, June 4, Andrew, 66, rode as a passenger in a black vehicle while sporting what looked to be a massive facial bruise. The purple discoloration on his face reached from his forehead, around his eye and all the way down onto his cheek.
According to reports from both The Times and The Telegraph, the bruise on Andrew’s face is the result of a medical condition. A source told The Telegraph that “no drama” led to the bruise and there is no need for concern.
The disgraced royal has made headlines for multiple reasons over the last several months, and none of them were positive. In October 2025, King Charles IIIstripped him of his royal titles amid scrutiny surrounding his connections with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” a statement shared by Buckingham Palace read at the time. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence.”
On February 19, he was arrested on claims that he shared confidential information with Epstein when he worked as a trade envoy. He was released that same day and was not charged with a crime.
As Examiner previously reported, the Thames Valley Police revealed that they were looking into “reports that a woman was taken to an address in Windsor in 2010 for sexual purposes” as well as an “investigation into misconduct in public office.”
While the report did not specifically name the former Duke of York, the New York Times reported that it was standard procedure in Britain for names to be omitted.
Throughout it all, Andrew has continually denied any wrongdoing.
