Dolly Parton has never been the type to sit back and let other people run the show, a source tells Examiner.
But the country music legend, 79, has had to do just that amid her recent health challenges.
“Dolly’s really struggled with being sidelined,” shares the source. “She doesn’t feel like things can run quite right without her touch and she’s not that far off base.”
“All kinds of things have gone wrong in the time that she’s been sick,” the source continues. “Nothing huge or catastrophic but stuff she would never have let happen on her watch.”

Her iconic theme park, Dollywood, recently found itself in the headlines after implementing a new soda dispenser that requires guests to scan a QR code on their cup before filling up.
Per the Daily Mail, the new system not only tracks every ounce of soda dispensed but also cuts guests off once they’ve reached their limit.
“The soda machine dispenser has caused a lot of anger and it’s the sort of thing Dolly never would have gone for if she’d been filled in on the details ahead of time,” notes the source. “But right now, with her taking this time off, she’s not being asked to weigh in on all these so-called minor decisions like she used to.”

Dollywood isn’t the only responsibility the “9 to 5” singer’s had to relinquish.
On Sunday, September 28, Parton announced on Instagram that she was postponing her upcoming Las Vegas concert residency.
“She has so many businesses that she’s had to take a step back from,” says Examiner’s source. “It’s been very hard for her, and there’s still no end date to this in sight.”
