Dolly Parton knows exactly how she wants to spend the rest of her rockin’ years.
A source says the 79-year-old singer is planning to treat herself to all kinds of fun activities and trips as part of a ‘bucket list’ that will coincide nicely with her 80th birthday next month.
“Dolly has been working nonstop her entire life and even when she wasn’t technically working, she was still going a million miles an hour looking after everyone and everything,” the source tells Examiner. “She has always had a hundred plates spinning at once.”
Recently, though, the country music legend has been dealing with some “health challenges,” which, the source says, has forced her to rest up and reflect.
“The forced downtime seems to have made some impact on Dolly because she’s now talking about making the coming year all about her bucket list,” the source reveals. “She wants to start checking things off, she has a lot of travel she wants to do.”

Parton has been all over the globe touring, but it’s not the same as getting to slow down and be a tourist, notes the source.
“Dolly wants to spend time in London and finally have tea with Princess Kate at the palace,” says the source, alluding to a 2023 interview with Saga magazine, in which Parton revealed she’d received a royal invite but couldn’t make it due to her hectic work schedule. “She [also] wants to go to Australia and see the reef and go on safari in Africa.”
Adds the source: “Being stuck at home has made Dolly realize that she wants to travel the world before it’s too late!”
