Suzanne Somers’ Widower Alan Hamel Spotted With Her Former Costar, Almost Two Years After Her Death

Suzanne Somers‘ widower, Alan Hamel, may have a new woman in his life  — the late actress’ former costar Joanna Cassidy.

On Monday, June 23, the Canadian TV host, 88, and the Buffalo Bill alum, 79, were photographed in Malibu walking with their arms locked together, per photos obtained by Daily Mail. Onlookers told the outlet that the duo was spotted at the Malibu Beach Inn and grabbed lunch at Broad Beach Oyster Company before leaving in a black SUV.

The producer wore a printed orange button-up shirt, dark jeans and shades. Meanwhile, the Golden Globe Award-winning actress — who starred with Suzanne in the 1985 ABC miniseries Hollywood Wives — donned grey checkered pants, a white t-shirt, and a grey blazer. The pair also rocked matching white baseball caps with the luxury hotel’s logo.

According to the outlet, Joanna was wearing her wedding ring despite being divorced from her ex-husband, Kennard C. Kobrin, since 1974.

Alan’s outing with Joanna comes almost two years after Suzanne passed away from an aggressive form of breast cancer at age 76 in October 2023.

Alan appeared on Today shortly after the Three’s Company alum’s death, saying, “We had 55 really wonderful years together and 42 years where we were not apart for not even an hour. We were together constantly.”

“She was an amazing, amazing woman. Aside from all her accomplishments, she was an amazing wife and an amazing mother as well,” he gushed. “She’s the one who pulled our family together. I didn’t do it. She did it. And she really knew what she was doing. So I will miss her.”

The husband-and-wife duo tied the knot in 1977 and blended their two families, as they were both previously married and had children.

The Step by Step alum wed Bruce Somers in 1965 and had son Bruce Somers Jr., 59, with him that year, but they eventually divorced in 1968.

Alan, has a daughter, Lesli, and a son, Stephen, from his marriage to Marilyn Hamel, which lasted from 1958 to 1971.

In November 2017, Suzanne shared insight into her relationship with Alan on Today.

“He takes care of me in the morning, makes me coffee. And then, at night, we often date. We’ll share a tequila. Sometimes we dance, we listen to cocktail kind of music, then I make him a great dinner, and I always light candles, and I just keep the romance in our relationship,” she explained. “I always wanted the marriage I have. I wanted it to be romantic and sexy in love; he adores me, and I adore him.”
