King Charles III won’t visit with son Prince Harry during his upcoming trip to the U.S. — and Queen Camilla is the driving force behind keeping them apart, Examiner has learned.
“Charles actually did want to try and make time to see Harry but Camilla put her foot down in a big way,” an insider tells Examiner. “She made it very clear she did not want that meeting to happen and was prepared to cause a serious fight over it.”
The British couple are poised to be on American soil from April 27 to April 30, with President Donald Trump announcing on Instagram that they’ll be his guests at a White House dinner in Washington, D.C., on April 28.
Harry — who left England in 2020 after stepping down as a senior working royal — lives across the country in Montecito, California,, with wife Meghan Markle and kids Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
“While Camilla has huge issues with Harry, Charles feels like she should understand why he wants to have a relationship with his son and grandchildren and be more supportive of that,” says the insider. “She won’t hear of it though.”

As Examiner previously reported, the queen consort, 78, continues to seethe over things the Duke of Sussex, 41, wrote in his 2023 memoir, Spare, including that she’d “sacrificed” his image to save her own.
In promotional interviews, Harry also labeled the woman whom he’d begged Charles, 77, not to marry “a villain” and called her “dangerous,” Time reported.
But a source claimed to People that the family rift isn’t at fault for the lack of a stateside reunion, instead blaming it on the king and queen’s “tightly choreographed” itinerary.
“It’s a polite excuse,” adds Examiner’s insider. “Charles has chosen to keep the peace with Camilla, for now.”
