“It’s no secret that she thinks [King Charles III] has taken leave of his senses by pushing so hard for this reunion,” says the source. “As far as Camilla is concerned, he’s making a huge mistake and everyone else can be fools if they like, but she’s not pretending this isn’t a huge gamble.”
According to the BBC News, Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have been offered a royal residence to stay in during their visit.
“Charles has been imploring her to play nice and not let old grievances get in the way and Camilla has reluctantly agreed,” notes the source. “But it’s hard to imagine she will be able to follow through.”

Camilla’s grievances with the Sussexes go back to 2023, the year Spare came out.
In his best-selling memoir, Harry revealed that when she and Charles, 77, got married in 2005, he had “complex feelings about gaining a step-parent” whom he believed leaked stories to the press.
“Fact is, she’s never going to forget what [he] said about her,” says the source. “Those wounds are still very real to her and she has no interest in sweeping them under the carpet.”
As Examiner previously reported, a source says the queen consort, 78, doesn’t want to play “happy family” with the couple while they’re in town.
That said, “she also has no intention of leaving Charles to deal with Harry and Meghan on his own” either, adds the source. “She sees it as her job to protect him.”
