“Security isn’t just a priority anymore — it’s an obsession,” a source told Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack on Wednesday, July 1. “Every plan starts with the worst-case scenario. He assumes someone is watching, someone is listening, or someone knows where he is.”
Sources told the outlet that the Duke of Sussex, 41, has gone to extreme lengths to guarantee his privacy and the safety of his family by constantly changing his phone number, controlling who can contact him, and he even has his hotel rooms searched for bugging devices.
“Harry sees threats everywhere,” a separate source told Naughty But Nice. “The court decision didn’t just disappoint him — it confirmed what he already believed: that no one else is going to keep his family safe.”
Some believe that the stress of his fallout with brother Prince William, legal battles and constantly being in the public eye is beginning to take its toll, and it’s left him in a constant state of worry.

“Everyone wants Harry to find some peace,” another source explained. “Being careful is understandable, but living as though every day brings a new threat is emotionally exhausting. Friends hope he can eventually let his guard down before fear completely takes over.”
Harry spoke out after the legal loss and said he was “devastated” by the outcome, according to a report from ABC News published on May 2, 2025.
“There have been so many disagreements, differences, between me and some of my family,” he later said in an interview with the BBC. “This current situation that has been ongoing for five years with regard to human life and safety is the sticking point. It is the only thing that’s left.”
