Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Kids’ Reunion With King Charles ‘Wasn’t Entirely Warm and Fuzzy’

During their recent visit to the UK, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla for the first time in four years, but the family’s return across the pond was anything but triumphant.

Harry, 41, was in his home country to promote the Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham, England in 2027. His wife, 44, son, 7, and daughter, 5, were originally expected to join him on the trip, however on July 4, the Prince announced he would be traveling to London without his family. The about-face in plans was reportedly due to the fact that the family was denied taxpayer-funded security and barred from staying at Buckingham Palace after initially being offered lodgings there.

Ultimately, after a logistical “nightmare,” as a source described the trip to Page Six, Meghan and the kids did join Harry in the UK for a reunion with the King, 77, and Queen, 79, at Highgrove House, their private residence in Gloucestershire, England. But one royal expert claims the reunion—their first since King Charles revealed he has cancer—was tense.

“One gets the sense that, from Meghan’s perspective, the reunion with Charles and Camilla wasn’t entirely warm and fuzzy,” royal author Christopher Andersen told Page Six.

However, a palace source shot back at this claim, telling the outlet that it was a “private family-only meeting.”
