King Charles Orders Princess Kate to Make Amends With Megan Markle Over ‘Petty Drama’ (Exclusive)

King Charles III is counting on Princess Kate to help heal the royal family rift, a source tells the National Examiner.

Six years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were stepping away from the monarchy, “Charles has ordered Kate to play a role in welcoming them back,” reveals the source. “He acknowledges that the Sussexes have made a lot of missteps, but he’s willing to forgive them.”

The show of goodwill comes one month after the king, 77, announced that his treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer was being “reduced” in 2026.

He revealed his initial diagnosis in 2024.

“Charles is dealing with serious health issues while running the monarchy and he genuinely feels like the family infighting is ridiculous in the grand scheme of things,” shares the source. “As far as Charles is concerned, this petty drama has gone on long enough. He has no patience left for it.”

In various interviews, as well as in Spare, the prince’s 2023 memoir, the couple seemed to take particular aim at Kate, 44.

Aside from revealing her text messages that allegedly left Markle, also 44, in tears before their 2018 wedding, the duke, 41, and his wife have spoken about the future queen bristling at being hugged behind closed doors, not wanting to share her lip gloss and taking offense to a comment about having “baby brain.”

“Regardless of what’s been said and done, Charles believes life is too precious to hang on to resentments,” notes the source. “He trusts Kate to be the voice of reason and smooth things over. Charles isn’t asking her to be best friends with Meghan, but he wants to see real effort on her part to play nice.”
