Dick Van Dyke ‘Knows He’s Near the End’ But His 100th Birthday Will Be a Milestone to Remember (Exclusive)

Dick Van Dyke is just a few weeks away from turning 100 — and a source tells Examiner that he’s going to get the royal treatment from loved ones led by his devoted wife Arlene Silver, who can’t wait to spoil him with a romantic hurrah.

“Dick has a great attitude about aging,” the source says. “He’s not letting it slow him down, but he’s also very open about being near the end. He doesn’t expect to have a whole lot more birthdays, so this will be heavily celebrated.”

According to the source, the Mary Poppins legend won’t be “hitting the town” for his milestone birthday.

Silver, 54, is “planning a beautiful party at their home in Malibu,” the source shares.

“All his loved ones will be there, and Arlene’s invited lots of his Hollywood friends too,” the source adds. “He’s so well loved and has so many friends in the business, there will be a big turnout.”

The source says Silver has thought of every detail to make the day special.

“She’s hired a band to play all Dick’s favorites,” the source reveals. “They still love hitting the dance floor together, which is so sweet.”

And the celebration won’t end there.

“She’s not stopping at just the big party,” the source continues. “She’s planning a holiday for the two of them to Santa Barbara, to a five-star resort where they can relax and enjoy themselves.”

“Arlene’s madly in love with Dick and won’t miss this chance to show it,” the source adds.
