The actress and filmmaker, 51, emphasized she was hoping to find a new home in the coming years in a new interview.
Speaking to L’Officiel on Wednesday, September 9, about her new creative house Atelier Jolie, she was asked about whether she might base herself in New York instead of Los Angeles in the future,
“Out of the States more, I think,” Jolie replied. “I don’t really plan to have a base. I’d like to have a home base for my family, a place where some of the mom stuff and the family photos are. And then I’d like to be a bit nomadic for a while.”

Jolie is entering a new chapter following the end of her lengthy divorce from Brad Pitt. The former couple separated in 2016 and finalized their divorce in December 2024.
Her latest comments about relocating echo what she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024, when she made it clear she planned to leave Los Angeles once her youngest children turned 18.
At the time, the Girl, Interrupted star said, “I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave. When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety.”
Jolie said her work with Atelier Jolie will initially take her to Brazil before she travels to “different locations around the world” to meet “local artists and makers.”
The actress shares six children with Pitt: Maddox, 25, Pax, 23, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 18.
There was another indication Jolie may be preparing to leave Los Angeles in May, when People reported she had listed her California home for $29.85 million.
