President Donald Trump Reportedly Made Rude Comment About Prince Harry During King Charles’ Visit

President Donald Trump apparently had nothing nice to say about Prince Harry when King Charles III came to visit the White House earlier this week.

According to Daily Mail journalist Richard Eden — who was in Washington when the 77-year-old king and Queen Camilla, 78, came to visit — the president, 79, made an “interesting comment” about the Duke of Sussex.

In a Thursday, April 30, Daily Mail report, Eden said he learned that when Harry — who now lives in California with wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4 — came up in conversation, Trump allegedly said to a British visitor: “Can you take him back?”

Trump has previously made cold remarks about Harry and his wife, 44. Most recently, after the Spare author made a surprise speech in Ukraine urging “American leadership to step up,” Trump told reporters Harry “is not speaking for the U.K. That’s for sure.”

“I think I’m speaking for the U.K. more than Prince Harry. But I appreciate his advice,” he said, while also asking: “How’s his wife? Please give her my regards.” (He previously could be heard on a recording calling the Duchess of Sussex “nasty,” though he’s denied making that remark.)

According to the Daily Mail, Trump feels much differently about Harry’s brother, Prince William, 43, and Princess Kate, 44.

Eden reported that Trump and his wife, Melania, have invited the Prince and Princess of Wales to the White House.

“Melania wants Catherine, in particular, to come,” a U.S. source said of the mother of three. “She admires her greatly and would love her to visit.”

During the royals’ state visit, the king and queen — who were welcomed to Washington, D.C., on Monday — attended a garden party at the British embassy after their arrival. Charles delivered an address to a joint meeting of Congress on Tuesday.

The pair also took part in a state dinner at the White House on Tuesday evening.

Following their visit to America, the pair will continue to Bermuda to “undertake His Majesty’s first Royal Visit as Monarch to a British Overseas Territory,” according to Buckingham Palace.
