King Charles’ ‘Hot’ Assistant Set to Step Down From Royal Duties

Jonny Thompson — aptly dubbed King Charles III‘s “Hot Equerry” — is set to resign from his role as the monarch’s assistant at the end of the year.

“Their Majesties were of course aware of this plan in advance and I know they are most grateful to Jonny for his support over the past seven years and wish him all the best for the future,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement to Hello! magazine on Wednesday, September 2.

Prior to stepping into his role as Charles’ right-hand man, the military vet served as a bodyguard for the late Queen Elizabeth II, according to the outlet. He has been working alongside the king, 77, and Queen Camilla since 2019.

Earlier this year, amid the royals’ visit to the United States, the aide went viral after appearing in his military dress and kilt during a party held at the home of the British ambassador.
