Lionel Richie returned to the stage for the first time after experiencing a health scare that saw him cut a concert short and sent him to the hospital.

The 77-year-old artist appeared on stage once again on Tuesday, June 30, at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to continue his Sing a Song All Night Long Tour alongside Earth, Wind & Fire.

Richie’s performance reportedly went off without a hitch as he ran the crowd through his hits like “Hello” and “Running with the Night,’ according to Parade. The concert was his first time taking the stage again after he ended his concert in St. Paul, Minnesota, early on June 24 after reportedly feeling “dizzy” and “strange.” He canceled two dates in Chicago but returned in Pittsburgh.

“I had you worried there for a minute, huh?” he told the crowd on Tuesday in videos shared of the event on social media. “You have no idea what I have been through in the last 24 hours, listening to my friends tell me their advice on what I should be doing.”

The singer admitted that he may have brushed off some warning signs about his health before his on-stage mishap and hospitalization.

A source previously told the Examiner that Lionel’s daughter, Nicole Richie, is particularly diligent about his health these days and concerned that he’s not taking his health seriously.

“Nicole nags him all the time to take things a little easier but now that this has happened, she’s getting a lot tougher,” a source says of the former Simple Life alum, 44. “She wants to know exactly what the doctors are saying, what tests he needs and what the plan is going forward because the big fear is that Lionel has been brushing off warning signs for longer than anyone realized.”

“Lionel has always lived his life in the fast lane and he’s certainly not a guy who is ready to accept his age,” the source added. “He’s still working at a crazy pace and he’s not exactly a health nut either.”

So far, Lionel has not shared details about his hospitalization.
