Jay Leno is incredibly devoted to his dementia-stricken wife, Mavis. So devoted, Examiner can reveal that the former Tonight Show host, 75, has been putting his vast personal fortune to good use by spoiling the philanthropist, 79, rotten whilst ensuring she lives the best life possible during the time she’s got left.

“Jay’s career made them more money than they could ever spend,” an insider says of his estimated $450 million net worth. “He still treats Mavis like a princess and they have the resources to make sure she has top-level care 24/7 whether they’re in Los Angeles or spending time at their East Coast estate.”

In April 2024, Leno was granted conservatorship over Mavis’ estate and he also serves as her caretaker. “She really needs me and I like that. And I can tell she appreciates it,” the comedian said during a November 20 appearance on the Today show. “The idea that you get married, you take these vows, nobody ever thinks they’ll be called upon to act on them. You know that part — for better or worse. Even the worse isn’t that bad.”

At the end of the day, “Jay doesn’t see a lot of sense in wallowing in personal tragedy or bad luck. He’d rather just get on with it and enjoy the life he and Mavis have built together,” the insider insists. “Jay wants to show people that, after almost a half-century of marriage, this is not a time for anybody to be depressed about their family. They’ve had an amazing life together.”
