William Shatner is clearing the air after reports claimed he was rushed to the hospital this week.
The 94-year-old Star Trek legend took to Instagram on Thursday, September 25 posting a mustached photo of himself along with the caption: “Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!”
Shatner added, “I over indulged [sic]. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine.”
His comments came after TMZ reported that he had been taken to a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday afternoon following what was described as a medical emergency. Shatner’s agent, Harry Gold, told the outlet that the actor had experienced an issue with his blood sugar. Paramedics transported him to the hospital as a precaution, but he was discharged the same day after being evaluated.

Shatner, best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, has remained active in Hollywood even in his 90s. He recently competed on The Masked Singer and, in 2023, narrated the documentary You Can Call Me Bill.
Speaking to Variety about the project, Shatner admitted he saw the film as a legacy piece. “I’ve turned down a lot of offers to do documentaries before. But I don’t have long to live. Whether I keel over as I’m speaking to you or 10 years from now, my time is limited, so that’s very much a factor. I’ve got grandchildren. This documentary is a way of reaching out after I die,” he said.
Despite the brief health scare, Shatner continues to work. He is set to star in Family Tree, a holiday dramedy series he created with Tom Bergeron.
