Princess Eugenie is sending her well-wishes to Princess Kate and company after she and her sister, Princess Beatrice, declined attending the annual “Together at Christmas” carol service.
In an Instagram Story posted Friday, December 5 — the same night as the event, hosted by the Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey — the 35-year-old revealed she would not be in attendance.
“Wish Bea and I could have been celebrating tonight with our family,” Eugenie wrote above a picture of the invitation. “Wishing @princeandprincessofwales such a special evening at her incredible carol service. What an amazing message of love and hope.”
The photo in Eugenie’s Instagram Story linked back to a post promoting the event that was shared on Prince William and Kate’s official Instagram.
“Introducing the line-up for tonight’s ‘Together at Christmas’ Carol Service – coming together to celebrate the connections that shape our lives,” the caption read. The star-studded guest list includes actors Kate Winslet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Joe Locke and many more.

According to People, Eugenie and Beatrice, 37 — who have both attended the service in years past — were invited to the event in early autumn, but they have another commitment.
However, their eyebrow-raising absence comes amid their father Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s public downfall.
On October 30, Buckingham Palace announced that his brother King Charles IIIstripped the former Prince Andrew of his royal titles and honors. Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson (Eugenie and Beatrice’s mother), were also asked to vacate Royal Lodge, where they’ve lived practically rent-free.
Though the former Duke of York, 65, has never been charged with any crime, he has long been connected to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and more damning allegations against Andrew have come to light following the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir.
