The former Prince Andrew—now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor—is entering a new chapter. And according to publishing sources who spoke to the Daily Mail recently, he stands to make a pretty penny if he’s willing to put it all in writing.
“Obviously everyone wants the inside track on his time with Epstein,” one executive told the publication, referring to Mountbatten-Windsor’s ties to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which led to his royal titles and honors being stripped. (The ex-Duke of York has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.)
“That is the Holy Grail—no royal has been treated so brutally by his own people since King Charles I was beheaded in 1649, and he’s clearly angry at the way he’s been dumped. In those circumstances he might be prepared to talk, in broad terms, about his involvement with Epstein, simply to get his side of the story across.”

However, the source cautioned that it might be difficult for Mountbatten-Windsor to go on the record about anything too salacious for legal reasons: “He has to be careful his words don’t incriminate him. The Democrats in the US Congress have asked Andrew to appear before them, and now he no longer has royal immunity, he’d have to tread very, very carefully. But he must be dying to say something in order to salvage his professional reputation.”
Even if he doesn’t want to write about Epstein’s island, the source believes the 65-year-old son of the late Queen Elizabeth II could still cash in on his infamy with a tell-all memoir that focuses on his royal upbringing. “With the right ghost-writer asking him the right questions, we could see the history of the House of Windsor completely rewritten with what he knows. He’s a time-bomb waiting to explode,” said the insider, who estimates that such a memoir could fetch the disgraced former prince around £25 million ($33 million).
For reference, Mountbatten-Windsor’s nephew Prince Harry was reportedly paid a $20 million advance for his 2023 bestseller, Spare, and raked in around $6 or $7 million from sales.
