King Charles ‘Frustrated’ That Prince Harry Won’t ‘Push Back’ on Wife Meghan Markle’s Demands

King Charles III may never understand his son Prince Harry‘s relationship with Meghan Markle.

While people close to the palace are speculating that the king, 77, and his 41-year-old son may reunite this summer in the U.K. after years of keeping their distance, an insider exclusively tells Examiner there may be some hesitations on His Majesty’s part.

According to a recent report by British magazine Heat, a source said the king is “looking forward to welcoming the Sussexes this summer,” but “Harry has been coming in with all these demands on behalf of Meghan, and it’s already rubbing a lot of palace aides the wrong way.”

Examiner‘s insider says that the move by the Duke of Sussex was “not missed by anyone, Charles included.”

The insider claims that “as soon as Harry was informed that he and Meghan and the children would be welcomed this summer, he came back with all these demands on behalf of Meghan.”

“He insisted the list was all his own doing but everyone saw it and have branded it one more example of Meghan being controlling and manipulative,” the insider adds.

After Harry and Meghan, 44, stepped back from their senior royal duties in 2020 and moved to California — where they now live with children Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 4 — their time with the royal family has been limited.

Multiple reports have since claimed that the former Suits actress and her headstrong personality are part of the problem.

“Charles fully understands Harry’s attraction to a strong woman,” Examiner‘s insider says, pointing out that Charles has “got a very powerful wife himself” in Queen Camilla, so “he takes no issue with that.”

However, the insider adds, “He does, however, believe that to make that dynamic work, each party has to know when and how to push back, and he’s frustrated that Harry is not doing enough of that.”

According to the insider, Charles “points out how hardheaded Harry can be with his own family when he wants something and is demanding that he start showing some of that backbone with Meghan.”

“Charles is sick of it,” the insider concludes, adding that the royal monarch “laid it out for Harry.”

“He’s warned him that if he doesn’t make some adjustments, this tentative truce they’re building will never get off the ground,” the insider says.

Though Harry’s relationship with his father has appeared to be strained in recent years, the Spare author met with His Majesty at Clarence House on September 10, 2025, for a private tea, though no other details of that meeting were made public.
