A source says King Charles III is ready to issue a take-it-or-leave-it truce offer to Prince Harry when they meet face-to-face in the U.K. this summer, with Meghan Markle left out in the cold.
“Harry wants to come to Charles with all these demands on behalf of Meghan, but people are warning him that’s not going to go over well with his father,” Examiner‘s source reveals. “Charles wants to deal with Harry man-to-man. He’s not interested in appeasing Meghan or allowing Harry to let her pull strings.”
It wouldn’t be the first time Meghan, 44, has been left out of an important meeting.
Back in 2020, the royal family appeared to wait until the Duchess of Sussex returned to Canada to hold its infamous Sandringham Summit, Harry, 41, alleged in his memoir Spare, per People.
“There is no doubt Charles wants Harry to … come home and he’s doing everything he can to pave the way for that,” says the source. “But he’s not going to be taking orders from Meghan, even if they come via Harry.”
However, the king is “only going to bend so far,” stresses the source.
“If Harry wants to have a relationship with him, he’s going to have to do it on Charles’ terms,” notes the source. “Whatever offer he does extend is not going to be up for negotiation.”
