Andrew Mountbatten Windsor seems to be moving farther and farther away from the royal family.

King Charles III’s brother — formerly known as Prince Andrew — must vacate Royal Lodge in the coming weeks after being stripped of his duties and titles, but royal experts suggest that the 65-year-old could potentially flee to the Middle East instead of Sandringham House in Norfolk, as had previously been reported.

“He doesn’t like the sound of being on the Sandringham estate, I think he wants to go somewhere where he can just get away from everything,” royal biographer Andrew Lownie told People in an article published Tuesday, January 6.

Robert Jobson, another royal biographer, told the publication that the former Duke of York’s plans to relocate to Sandringham could change after Charles, 77, allegedly met with Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, in recent days.

“The King saw the King of Bahrain the other day,” Jobson told People. “One never knows — it could be a place where Andrew gets the recognition of being the second son of Queen Elizabeth, rather than this.”

While details of a relocation outside of the United Kingdom for Andrew are not confirmed, Jobson noted that the father of two “did a lot of business in Bahrain, and he’s still relatively young.”

As Examiner previously reported, Andrew has come under fire in recent weeks due to renewed interest in his connection to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Though the queen’s son has never been charged with any crime, more damning allegations against him have come to light following the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir and parts of the Epstein files.

Andrew has consistently maintained his innocence and denied any wrongdoing.
