Brigitte Bardot’s Disinherited Final Husband Furious as Her Belongings Go to Auction

Brigitte Bardot‘s fourth and final husband is weighing in on the sale of some of her most personal items.

Almost a year after the French film icon’s death, Bernard d’Ormale shared his anger over the Paris auction, which will see things like Bardot’s famous straw sun hats, berets, toiletries and even her underwear go up for sale.

“These are personal items. Why hold this sale?” d’Ormale, 85, said when speaking to the French newspaper, Nice-Matin, on September 19, about the auction, per the Daily Mail.

Organized by auction house Millon to raise money for the animal charity founded by Bardot and for her son Nicholas Charrier, d’Ormale called the move a disservice to the late actress.

“For the animals? It’s a joke and disrespectful to Brigitte’s memory,” he continued.

Bardot and d’Ormale married in a religious wedding in Norway in 1992, but their marriage was never valid in France.

The widower, who was living in Bardot’s home in St. Tropez, La Madrague, in the South of France until her death at 91 in 2025, spent over 30 years with her, but was left nothing in her will — a decision he claims he signed off on.

“I was the one who told her I didn’t want anything at all,” d’Ormale said of being disinherited from the And God Created Woman star’s will and estate, which includes La Madrague and her apartment in Paris, where most of the items were being stored.

“All of this could have been kept for the day when people are able to visit La Madrague. It’s scandalous to strip her bare in this way,” he added.

About 300 items are set to be auctioned off at the Hôtel Drouot, with d’Ormale fearing that this is the start of a major sell-off of not only her personal effects, but her properties as well, including her other estate in St. Tropez, La Garrigue.

“If the idea ever crosses their minds to sell everything off just like this auction, how can I prove the items belonged to Brigitte or were part of my private life?” d’Ormale wondered while in conversation with Nice-Matin. “Brigitte certainly wouldn’t have agreed to this sale — she would have sent them packing.”

A spokesman for the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, meanwhile, told the outlet that d’Ormale was present when the auction was agreed to, although he denies this.

And it’s not the only thing d’Ormale disagrees with: the French businessman was removed from La Madrague following Bardot’s death in December, and forced to find an apartment of his own.

“I’ve lived there for 35 years, and now I’m being kicked out – can you believe it?” he quipped.

Prior to her decades-long marriage to d’Ormale, Bardot was married three times before, first to Roger Vadim, then to actor Jacques Charrier, with whom she shared Nicholas, 66, and socialite Gunter Sachs.
