Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew At Odds Over Scandal Fallout: ‘It’s Gotten Ugly’ (Exclusive)

Sarah Ferguson’s famously close relationship with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, has soured in the wake of continued backlash over their mutual friendship with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, a source tells Examiner.

Ferguson, 66, “is telling anyone who’ll listen that Andrew pushed her to reach out to Jeffrey Epstein for financial help years ago and that she’s paying the price for his mistakes,” says the source.

But the prince, 65, blames her for being “greedy” and borrowing money from the disgraced billionaire, adds the source. “Andrew says she lived beyond her means and dragged him into one scandal after another.”

The former Duchess of York dropped her royal titles when her ex relinquished them in a statement released on Friday, October 17 — and she had already lost multiple charity patronages in September after a 2011 email she wrote to Epstein, calling him an “extreme friend,” was published by The Sun and the Mail on Sunday.

And though the pair have long supported each other — and have even continued living together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, England, after their 1996 divorce — they’ve “turned against each other now,” says the source. “Their fights have become constant and it’s gotten ugly.”

“As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me,” Andrew said in his October 17 statement.

A spokesperson for Fergie shared a statement to People addressing the reports about her email to Epstein: “The Duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been her first thoughts are with his victims. Like many people, she was taken in by his lies. As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia. She does not resile from anything she said then. This email was sent in the context of advice the Duchess was given to try to assuage Epstein and his threats.”
