Ex-Prince Andrew Looking to Sarah ‘Fergie Ferguson’ for an Ally: ‘Both in the Firing Line’ (Exclusive)

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor may not be on the best of terms with ex-wife Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, as Examiner previously reported — but he’s looking to change that.

“He wouldn’t admit it but he’s feeling totally lost without her,” a source tells Examiner. “For all his complaints, the fact is she was the one who kept his life running smoothly.”

Despite divorcing in 1996, the former Duke and Duchess of York, both 66, continued to live together at Royal Lodge before being asked to vacate the 30-bedroom Windsor mansion in October amid mounting scrutiny over their ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

“Most of his adult life, she’s overseen everything from the staff to the daily admin,” the source explains. “He relied on her to smooth over problems before they became crises.”

Andrew has another reason for wanting Fergie “back,” in his life, adds the source: “He’s convinced that they stand a far better chance of protecting themselves if they put on a united front.”

The former couple has become embroiled in scandal in recent months.

On Thursday, February 19, Andrew, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office following allegations that he shared confidential information with Epstein, 66, while working as a British trade envoy.

Fergie has also come under scrutiny after a 2011 email, in which she called the convicted pedophile a “supreme friend,” surfaced in September. The ex-royal denies any wrongdoing, too, and consistently maintains her innocence, previously stating via a representative that she was “taken in” by Epstein’s “lies.”

“This mess isn’t going away and they’re both in the firing line,” admits the source. “In Andrew’s view, they’re better off pooling their resources and doing something together if they’re both going to survive this.”
