King Charles III infamously stepped out on his marriage to Princess Diana and carried on a yearslong affair with now-wife Queen Camilla.
Former royal photographer Ian Pelham Turner suggested that, despite the controversy surrounding the beginnings of their high-profile relationship, Camilla, 78, has been a “much stronger person” for him.
“I want Charles to have his time, I get it, I think in a lot of ways, he is a very good King, I really do, and I think, where he’s come in his life now with Camilla by his side,” he told the Mirror US.
“When I look at Camilla nowadays, although she’s still vilified by women over 50, because they remember Diana,” he continued, “I think in a lot of ways, she’s actually taught Charles how to be human.”
Charles and Diana were married for 15 years, during which they welcomed sonsPrince William, 43, and Prince Harry, 40. They tied the knot in 1981 and separated in 1992. However, their divorce was not finalized until 1996.
Meanwhile, Charles and Camilla reportedly began their on-again, off-again affair in the mid 1980s, when she was still married to now ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles. They divorced in 1995.

Pelham Turner also believes that Camilla has played a role in tempering William’s influence over the monarchy.
“I think what is happening at the moment, and it’s just my inkling,” he clarified, “but I get the feeling at the moment, that she’s seeing William trying to create issues and she’s told Charles to stop it.”
This comes amid rumors that William and his wife, Princess Kate Middleton, 43, are planning to take the monarchy in a different direction when they ascend to the throne.
“I think the reality is, it’s been rumored for a while, that William has been trying to push — whatever — in the monarchy, at the moment, that he’s the driving force behind the throne and I think, Charles should be,” Pelham Turner added.
