“Right now, that’s exactly what the Royal Family needs,” a source told Rob Shuter’sNaughty But Nice Substack on Monday, April 6.
The source added that William’s tougher stance stands in stark contrast to his father, King Charles. The monarch is sometimes seen as too lenient, particularly when it involves situations including Andrew Mountbatten Windsor’s legal troubles and William’s ongoing feud with younger brother Prince Harry.
“Charles leads with his heart. William leads with strategy,” the source continued. “He doesn’t forget, and he doesn’t forgive easily. If you cross the line, that’s it.”
According to the source, William’s “ruthless streak” will ultimately benefit the monarchy.

“The monarchy is under more pressure than ever. You need someone who can make tough, unpopular decisions,” the source explained. “He understands the stakes. This isn’t just a family – it’s a business.”
The source also said that both Andrew, 66, and Harry, 41, “are a problem.”
“William knows that — and he acts accordingly,” the source told Naughty But Nice. “He’s not trying to be liked. He’s trying to protect the monarchy.”
Andrew was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of sharing confidential information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his time as a British envoy. He was released from custody and not charged with any crimes, and has continually denied any wrongdoing.
Harry and William, 44, have been estranged since Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped back from their royal duties in 2020.
