Meghan Markle Is ‘Staying Out of Sight Intentionally’ After Returning to the U.K. With Prince Harry

Meghan Markle has kept a low profile since she and Prince Harry returned to the U.K. However, a source tells Examiner that she’s just biding her time and can’t wait to make a splash once everything’s in place, with outshining Princess Kate at the very top of her agenda.

“Meghan was advised a while ago to be less accessible because it creates more interest, so that’s the strategy she’s leaning into,” explains the source, adding that the As Ever founder, 45, is “staying out of sight intentionally” but has “plenty of things keeping her busy,” including her two young children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

“Between unpacking, getting the kids settled into their new routine and keeping her brand and all her other projects moving, she’s going from morning until late at night,” the source says. “When she does start stepping out more, the hope is that she’ll have built up enough anticipation that people will be excited to see her, rather than having her everywhere right away and the public getting sick of her.”

Harry, however, has seemingly taken a different approach than Meghan. Since their return to England, the Duke of Sussex, 42, has made several solo public appearances, from the first annual Invictus Spirit Awards to the WellChild Awards.

“Harry understands why she wants to wait,” says the source. “But he’s convinced she’s worrying for nothing, that once she gets out there she’ll get a fantastic reception and could easily generate the same kind of excitement” that Kate, 45, does.

“And make no mistake, that is the goal,” the source reveals. “Meghan knows she and Kate are always going to be compared and she wants to prove she can make just as much of an impact, if not more.”
