King Charles III is more than willing to host Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, when the Suits alum and Prince Harry visit the U.K. this summer with their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, an insider tells Examiner.
“Charles has always had a real soft spot for Doria,” reveals the insider. “He admires how she carries herself and the fact she’s always stayed out of the drama, which in his eyes is no small feat given everything that’s gone on.”
The monarch, 77, “remembers how well they got along back at the wedding,” adds the insider, “and feels it’s a shame that she never really had the chance to build a closer relationship with the rest of the family,” especially Queen Camilla. “That’s why he’s keen to invite her to join Harry and Meghan when they make the trip.”

Meghan, 44, didn’t just marry into the monarchy in 2018. Doria did, too.
Charles “says she’s part of the family now in her own way, whether people like that or not, and he wants her to feel welcome,” shares the insider.
The king has another reason for wanting Harry’s mother-in-law to tag along.
As Examiner previously reported, sources say Charles wants peace, not just with Harry but with Meghan too, and he’s quietly applying pressure from the top to make that happen.
“He feels like [Doria] could help the dynamics because truth be told he’s a lot more comfortable with her than Meghan,” the insider admits. “It’s also not lost on him that any goodwill he shows to Doria could go a long way to softening things with Meghan.”
