George and Amal Clooney claim they’ve never had a fight during their 10 years of marriage.

“It’s maddening to some of our friends,” says Amal, 47. “I have a cousin, and every time we see him, he’s like, his first question is, ‘So have you had an argument yet?’”

George, 64, laughs, “We’re trying to find something to fight about.”

The declaration of zero marital spats caused a firestorm of debate on social media. But marriage experts defended the pair, saying the Clooneys must have developed expert communication skills, which are essential for them to have the kind of relationship that they describe.

“Although unusual, it’s not impossible,” says New York-based “Love À La Carte Method” creator Susan Winter. “If there’s clear communication and open dialogue, that allows for differences of opinion but does not culminate in a ‘fight’.”

“George and Amal communicate very well,” says an insider. “They avoid speaking out of turn or making rash comments to hurt the other person. George and Amal know each other well enough that they know when to listen and when to express their thoughts and feelings.”

Once divorced and previously self-proclaimed bachelor for life George believes his marital bliss is because he met his spouse when he was older and was already 53 when they wed and even older when they had twins Ella and Alexander, who recently turned 7.

“I started so late with Amal,” George says. “I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
