‘Wheel of Fortune Contestant’ Gets Engaged on TV With Help of Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White
Better than a cash prize! Former Wheel of Fortune contestant Rhea Mathew thought she was invited back to the iconic game show as part of the series’ 50th anniversary, but hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White had bigger plans — a marriage proposal.
Rhea correctly solved a puzzle that read in full, “Will You Marry Me?” — and her boyfriend, Robin Kuriakose, walked out on the set, dropped to one knee and popped the question!
“Rhea Susan Mathew, will you marry me?” asked Robin, who held up a huge engagement ring as the shocked crowd erupted in applause. A stunned and delighted Rhea quickly nodded yes, and the couple shared a sweet smooch.
Later, Robin explained, “From the moment I saw a future together with Rhea, I envisioned this proposal. I saw the letters on the board and knew this is how it had to happen. There were no plans B or C! It took about 3 months to plan it alongside the amazing producers of the show.”
