Prince Harry seems to be hoping for a family reunion in the new year.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, is desperate to get his children — Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, whom he shares with Meghan Markle — some facetime with his father, King Charles III, friends told The Sun.
The publication reported on Sunday, January 4, that the Spare author would love to host the 77-year-old monarch at his Montecito home during his and Queen Camilla’s next trip to the United States.

“Harry has made it clear that he would love his dad to come and visit him and the family,” a source told The Sun. “He knows that they are strained, but he has mentioned several times a hope that his father can have a relationship with his grandchildren.”
Charles and Camilla, 78, are expected to travel to the U.S. in April, coinciding with America’s 250th independence anniversary, for a potential state visit with PresidentDonald Trump.
It’s believed that the last time Charles saw Archie and Lilibet in person was when they attended the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022.

Shortly after Archie was born on May 6, 2019, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, 44, stepped down as working royals in January 2020 and moved to California, so the king hasn’t had the opportunity to see Archie and Lilibet as often as he does Prince William and Princess Kate’s children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.
A source previously told Examiner that Charles is equally yearning for more time with Harry and Meghan’s children.
“He cherishes the relationship he has with [William’s kids],” shared the insider. “But it’s bittersweet because he doesn’t know Harry’s two at all.”

Given his undisclosed cancer diagnosis, “The situation weighs on Charles a lot more than he lets on,” said the source. “These are his grandchildren, his flesh and blood. He wants to get to know them in the time he has left.”
