Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is trying to calm growing concerns that he might flee the country as scrutiny over his past ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continues, but according to a new report, few of King Charles‘ palace aides believe him.
“Technically, nothing is stopping him from getting on a plane tomorrow,” a source told Rob Shuter‘sNaughty But Nice Substack on Monday, May 11. “And that’s exactly what worries the palace.”
The source also pointed out that the disgraced royal hasn’t been communicating with his brother directly.
“Andrew has been communicating through the King’s people — not with Charles personally,” the source explained. “There’s no direct contact there anymore.”
Andrew, 66, “keeps insisting he has nothing to hide and nowhere to run,” but his promises are doing little to convince others.
“After years of scandals, almost nobody is willing to simply take him at his word,” the source added. “People aren’t listening to Andrew’s promises anymore. They’re watching his every move.”

The former prince has been repeatedly making headlines over the last few months. In October 2025, Charles, 77, stripped him of his royal titles and he was later evicted from his home at the Royal Lodge.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” a statement shared by Buckingham Palace read. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence.”
