Back to the Future” star Michael J. Fox was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden for his outstanding contributions to film — and his devotion to the Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Surrounded by his family — wife Tracy Pollan and their four children — Fox shares his reaction to his fans on social media: “WOW. Did this happen? Lots of thanks to everybody including Tracy and the kids. I am truly humbled.”

Long-suffering Parkinson’s patient Michael, 63, and Tracy were joined in a commemorative photo by their four children — Sam, Esme, and twin daughters Schuyler and Aquinnah, as well as President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.

Michael’s fans were quick to congratulate him on being honored with America’s highest civilian medal. “Quite an honor for someone who richly deserves it,” says one. “I have Parkinson’s, and you are an inspiration to me.”

Another fan says, “This guy went back in time like 3 times, influenced my childhood and still touches people’s hearts. More than well deserved!”
