At last! After four decades in Hollywood, Tom Cruise nabbed an honorary Academy Award on Nov. 16.

“Making films is not what I do,” the Top Gun: Maverick actor said during his acceptance speech at the Governors Awards in LA, “it is who I am,” per Variety.

Paramount Pictures

Tom, 63, had previously been nominated for Oscars four times but failed to score the coveted golden statuette until now.

“I will always do everything I can to help this art form, to support and champion new voices, to protect what makes cinema powerful,” promised the stunt-loving action star. “Hopefully without too many more broken bones.”
