Emilio Estevez and More of ‘The Mighty Ducks’ Cast Struggled on the Ice While Filming 1992 Film
Wow, watch those kids glide across the ice in The Mighty Ducks, the 1992 sports comedy-drama about a ragtag peewee hockey team that comes from behind, thanks to their initially reluctant new coach, played by Emilio Estevez. But don’t look too closely — because some of the young cast members, despite a two-week hockey boot camp before production started, were rank beginners on the rink.
Even Estevez struggled at first. The production team had to use stunt doubles and strategic camera angles to cover up for some of the clumsiness!
