Elvis Presley detested The Beatles, although there was one member of the Fab Four he could tolerate … and it wasn’t any of the three you are probably thinking!

While the Liverpool-born band idolized The King, Elvis saw them as a threat rather than fellow artists, especially as their fame skyrocketed — and the Fab Four did spearhead the British invasion of the mid-1960s.

Elvis even painted the Beatles as bad role models for America’s youths over their “hippie culture,” and during a meeting with President Richard Nixon he complained, “The Beatles came to this country, made their money, and then returned to England, where they promoted an anti-American theme.”

But he would include some of their songs in his performances and secretly liked ONE of the Fab Four — George Harrison.

The King admired the “Quiet Beatle” because he was more reserved than his bandmates. In addition, Elvis thought George was the best songwriter in the band, enjoying George’s tunes “Something” and “For You Blue” more than the group’s more popular hits.
