Fifties and ’60s songstress Connie Francis’ tunes “Where the Boys Are” and “Stupid Cupid” quickly became classics, but it took 63 years for “Pretty Little Baby” to become a hit!
Released in 1962 to little notice, the song has taken a 2025 audience by storm, courtesy of TikTok. But when the now 87-year-old singer was told it had gone viral on social media, she had no idea what it meant!
Connie was alerted to the news by Ron Roberts, president of her record label.
“My thanks to TikTok and its members for the wonderful, and oh so unexpected, reception given to ‘Pretty Little Baby,’ ” Connie wrote in a Facebook post. “Ron called to advise me that I had ‘a viral hit.’ Clearly out of touch with present day music statistics terminology, my initial response was to ask: ‘What’s that?’ Thank you everyone!”
