Chip & Joanna Gaines
The HGTV stars turned their passion for home renovation into a national phenomenon, but behind the fame is a quiet strength: their faith.
“I had to learn that this whole God thing isn’t just this big religion. It’s really that He wants this relationship with us on a personal level,” Joanna, 47, told People, in 2016, per Fox News.
“Even today with the opportunities that are coming our way … I need His guidance.” Chip, 50, adds, “Without God, for me, I’m not the best version of myself.”
Their faith not only strengthens them as individuals but also as business partners and spouses. They’ve been wed 22 years and have five children.

Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves
The actor was raised a Christian, but his sudden rise to fame caused him to drift away from his faith. He says it was his wife’s faith that brought him back to God.
“We talked about it spiritually,” Matthew told GQ Magazine in 2014 of 42-year-old Camila, mother of his three children.
“We did a lot of reading and talked to a lot of people who had been divorced, a lot of people who had been happily married. We talked to our pastor. In the end, our understanding was, ‘Let’s go make a covenant, with you, me and God.’”
Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
The singers say prayer keeps their marriage strong. They pray at home and before every performance. “Tim and I share a quick, quiet moment together before hitting the stage. Always praying,” Faith, who married Tim in 1996, once told People.
Of course, fame can be hard on marriages. And by 2008, the star lifestyle caught up with Tim, whose life on the road had led him into dangerous territory.
Faith, 57, revealed to Billboard in 2017 that she gave him an ultimatum: “Partying or having a family. Pick one, buddy.”
Tim, 58, chose Faith and their three daughters, and gave up booze and drugs. They’ve relied on God’s guidance and prayer to keep them happy and together ever since.

Denzel & Pauletta Washington
The couple celebrate 42 years of marriage this month thanks to “a lot of prayers.”
“There is no secret to the perfect marriage,” 70-year-old Denzel, who has raised four kids with his wife, once told The Guardian. “Everybody has their ups and downs; we’ve had ours. It’s hard work, you know. But we made a commitment. A spiritual foundation helps everything — marriage, work, peace of mind.”
“We work at it. It’s work,” Pauletta told People in 2024. “There are a lot of prayers for strength for staying in a forgiveness mode and both parts, mine and his…but it’s the basic love we have for one another.”
