Cher Is ‘Shocked’ After Discovering Secret Granddaughter Was Kept Hidden for Over a Decade, Says Source

Cher was left “shocked” after learning she’s the grandmother to a 15-year-old girl fathered by her son, Elijah Blue Allman, a source says.

According to a report from The Daily Enquirer published on Thursday, April 2, the teen’s existence had been kept from her for years.

The “I’ve Got You, Babe” singer, 79, first heard whispers about the girl back in 2021, but a source told the outlet that Cher only recently found out that the child is real after making contact with the girl’s mom.

The Daily Enquirer obtained an exclusive image of the alleged young woman, though her face has been obscured to protect her privacy.

The teen reportedly lives near Cher’s Malibu home.

“Elijah first told Cher about this in 2021,” the source explained. “Cher knew that she had a potential grandchild but didn’t know it was true until recently as she’s had contact with the mother.”

The source added that Allman, 49, “has known for the whole time —the whole 15 years — but only decided to tell people in 2021 as he was having issues.”

“He’s met her and there are pictures of the pair,” the source continued. “Elijah has never wanted his mom to be in the kid’s life because of their damaged relationship. He wanted to protect her from Cher.”

The news is especially striking considering Cher’s past comments about not having any grandchildren.

“I don’t have any grandchildren. I wish I did, I really do,” she said during a press tour for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, per The Mirror

Cher and Allman have had a complicated relationship for years. In late February, Allman was arrested after allegedly breaking into a boarding school and claiming to be a “prospective parent,” reported the Concord Monitor. He was arrested again two days later in a nearby town for burglary after allegedly breaking into a home.

“Elijah is clearly in a terrible state right now, his life is completely out of control and it’s obvious he’s in no condition to be a parent,” the source said of the situation. “He needs to look after himself now, try to avoid jail and then somehow get back on track. In the meantime his kid’s mom is protecting his daughter and keeping them apart. She’s like a mama bear and focusing on the daughter’s needs more than anything else.”

The source also claimed that Allman “desperately needs help.”

“Even he would be hard pressed to deny that. So until that happens there’s no sense in having him near his daughter.”
