‘Adolescence’ Star Stephen Graham Reveals He Lost One of His Golden Globes Just Hours After Winning

Adolescence star Stephen Graham is riding high off of his double Golden Globe victory, but the celebration took a chaotic turn when the actor lost one of his awards just hours later.

During his appearance on the U.K. radio show Capital Breakfast on Monday, January 19, Graham, 52, revealed that his Golden Globe vanished during a frantic travel day immediately after the Jan. 11 ceremony.

The actor and co-creator scored two trophies: “Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Limited Series” and “Best Limited Series” for Adolescence. But after rushing from Los Angeles to Madrid for a next-day shoot, his luggage — and the Golden Globe inside it — never made the connecting flight in Atlanta.

“I had like three minutes to catch the plane,” Graham recalled. “They threw me in a car and drove me across the airport … all I’m thinking is, ‘My case isn’t gonna make it.’”

Despite being assured his suitcase would follow, Graham said simply: “It didn’t land.”

Inside the missing bag? “My socks, my pants, my suit … and a Golden Globe,” he admitted with a laugh.

Graham insisted he hadn’t “left it behind,” explaining the trophy was too heavy to carry on. Thankfully, the story has a happy ending: the bag, and his award, showed up two days later.
